Tell the EU: Reject Imports From Climate Polluters
As Permian oil and gas exports increase, much of the fossil fuel being sent abroad is headed to Europe. But the European Union (EU) claims to be a climate leaders — and there’s no way to be a climate leader while enabling the world’s largest expansion of heavily polluting oil and gas extraction. Urge the EU to reject imports from climate polluters like the Permian Basin.

Dear European Union Commission,
As the Permian Basin in the United States rapidly increases its exports of oil and gas, much more attention is being paid to this climate hypocrisy of this fossil fuel expansion. Permian extraction is responsible for some of the world's most egregious methane pollution, and any so-called 'climate leader' importing those fuels is complicit in furthering the fossil fuel era and contributing to this deadly pollution.
We urge you to reject oil and gas imports from climate polluters like the Permian Basin, and to rapidly move away from all fossil fuel imports as you invest in a swift and just transition to renewable energy.
